If you thought the idea of a six hour Flaming Lips song was tedious, you should probably stop reading…..now, since Pitchfork reports that they’ve got another new one on the way, and this one’s five times longer. Yep, your math is right: the Flaming Lips are writing a 24 hour song.

Why? Because, silly. That’s why. According to bubble master Wayne Coyne, its “a song about death and it’s a song about fucking and it’s a song about life,” which is a pretty fancy way of saying “it’s probably not about anything at all.”

But the fun doesn’t stop there! Not only will the as-of-yet unnamed opus be long enough to make John Cage blush, it’ll apparently only be available in super limited editions. Specifically, five chrome-plated human skulls (with USB sticks inside) that’ll run you $5000 a pop. Oh my god, Flaming Lips, you’re soooooooooooooooooooo quirky!

The song is expected out on Halloween.
