Frank Turner is a marvellously talented songwriter. Over the years he’s walked away from his hardcore roots and towards the path of the road weary. He’s a natural performer, too, as you’ll see when he hits North America this fall for a tour with the always impeccable Andrew Jackson Jihad. But Turner’s latest video for “If I Ever Stray” off this past June’s England Keep My Bones makes one thing clear: as good of a songwriter as he may be, and as good of a performer as he is, the guy is flat out awkward without a guitar in his hands.

Watch the video for “If I Ever Stray” above and make note as it closes with Turner walking, pointing and “rap-shoving the air”, seemingly unsure of what to do with his hands but obviously involved and impassioned by his words.
