Remember that video we posted of Weezer covering Foster the People’s “Pumped Up Kicks”? Well, they heard about the cover (from us, obviously) and tossed out a cover of Weezer’s “Say It Ain’t So” at a recent concert to return the favour.

Spin caught up with Foster the People’s Mark Foster (holy shit, I get it!), who went on to tell a story about the first time he met Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo:

“Nine years ago, I met Rivers Cuomo at a party, and I had my acoustic guitar with me. I didn’t even know how to write a song back then. I couldn’t really sing and play guitar at the same time. I played an instrumental song, about three minutes long, and it was probably really painful for him. He taught me how to play ‘Say It Ain’t So.’ So nine years later, to watch him play one of my songs — it was wild. I can’t wait to meet him and remind him of that story.”
