Hopefully you didn’t trek to New York this weekend and if you’re there we’re hoping for the smallest of storms heading your way.

As Hurricane Irene approches NYC, local music site Brooklyn Vegan has taken to compiling a frequently updated (because stuff keeps getting cancelled) list of all the show cancellations happening, and the short of it is that practically every show happening in NYC this weekend is being cancelled.

This includes the big Afro-Punk festival and the Michael Jackson birthday party at Irving Plaza, though the big Prospect Park party will happen, albeit abbreviated.

While reading through all the cancellations, we can’t help but nod in agreement with this commenter:

“BV, we get it. Everything is canceled. all shows. You don’t need to post every single one. Let us know if someone announces that they are NOT canceling a show.”

Stay safe, New York!
