The ‘psycho opera’ that Karen O was said to be launching in October New York City as part of the week-long Creators Project festival now has a name and some details from Miss O herself.

Titled Stop the Virgens, the show will premiere at St. Ann’s Warehouse in Brooklyn on October 12. “I’m hoping to create an original live experience. It should feel like a psychedelic ride laced with catharsis,” O said in a statement. “This piece isn’t aiming to be all about spectacle or abstraction, though there is a good helping of both in the production.”

The project was co-created with design director KK Barrett and will be directed by Pulitzer Prize finalist Adam Rapp. Expect guests, too, as Other Karen O associates contributing to the show are Yeah Yeah Yeahs drummer Brian Chase, actress Lili Taylor, keyboardist Money Mark and members of the Greenhornes and Raconteurs.
