Lovely San Francisco pop-weirdos Deerhoof are starting this weird singles collection where different vocalists sing over Deerhoof instrumental tracks. Got that so far? Good. On July 5, Polyvinyl will release the first one, called WOOM on Hoof single, featuring duo WOOM singing over Deerhoof’s “Must Fight Current,” with Deerhoof drummer Greg Saunier remixing a WOOM song on the other.

But! The exciting news is that a future single is planned with a collaboration between Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy and his sons! The older of the two, Spencer Tweedy, has a pretty involved web presence and if you dig around enough, you’ll see that he and the younger Tweedy, Sam, are already talented musicians and have performed with their dad in the past.

No word on the release date for the Tweedy family/Deerhoof single yet, nor what song they’ll do. [via Pitchfork
