Though there was (somewhere, deep down inside of you, there was some hope, don’t lie) some hope, and even hints, that the recent Rage Against the Machine reunion shows would turn into a new album and future touring, a recent interview with LA radio station KROQ just might have put the kibosh on that.

“This is actually, probably, the last show we’re going to play,” bassist Tim Commerford says of the bands upcoming performance at their own L.A. Rising festival in Los Angeles on July 30.

This August marks the 20 year anniversary of the beginning of RATM, and while there may not be any new celebration releases planned afterall, Commerford says that, on stage, everything new will always be old. “Really, from the very first rehearsals out in the Valley when the four of us were in a room, it was like Zack was going off. Like he’s going to do on stage at L.A. Rising.” [via KROQ]
