Listen to the Strokes' new live "Taken For A Fool" single featuring Elvis Costello

The Strokes are getting set to release “Taken For A Fool” as the next single from the highly anticipated but tepidly received most recent album Angles, and included as the B-side is the same song (yeah, who knows) but only a live version from Madison Square Garden. The saving grace is that it features Elvis Costello.

The grace is only sort of saved, though, because what the hell, Strokes? Is this is best recording you do/find of your Madison Square Garden show? And is this as good as Elvis Costello can sound these days? Hell. Nonetheless, when Costello takes over on the choruses, it sounds like he could be singing something of his own from back in the day, so that’s not bad. You can listen to the track below.
