Watch Tom Morello play Google's Les Paul homepage tribute

In case you missed it yesterday, Google did one of its cute lil’ celebration illustrations in honour of electric guitar pioneer Les Paul, who would have been 96 yesterday (he died in 2009). This one was an interactive illustration—if you hovered your mouse over the strings you could strum, or play notes via your keyboard.
Tom Morello, another electric guitar pioneer in a different sense, recorded a video of himself playing the tiny drawing Les Paul and, naturally, the results are pretty good. You can watch the video above.
Edit, 1:30 p.m.: Thanks to the hawk eyes of our readers, we will employ our sick sense of Canadian pride to draw attention to the Corb Lund poster in the background here. You go, Alberta!
