M83 is getting set to release a new album in October (a double album!), and though there’s no title for it yet, today we get a sneak peek of what we’re in store for—sounds like Anthony Gonzalez is readying another dreamy set of gauzy synthgaze for us. Good.
In June, Gonzalez revealed to Spin that the album would have an overall concept steeped in the subconscious. “It’s mainly about dreams, how every one is different, how you dream differently when you’re a kid, a teenager, or an adult.” All things that Gonzalez no doubt explored after his recent move from his native Antibes, France, to Los Angeles. We hate to use the term epic and rarely condone it but when Gonzalez himself says the upcoming album is set to be, indeed, epic, we believe him.
The trailer sort of looks and sounds like a commercial for a forward-thinking auto or energy or, like, telecom company, which is to say, it’s freaking huge and wonderful and stunning. You can watch it above.
