Watch Damon Albarn perform a new song from the 'Dr Dee' opera

Blur/Gorillaz frontman Damon Albarn has been keeping busy with both bands on indefinite hiatus by penning tracks for a new opera about 16th Century alchemist, astrologer, and spy John Dee entitled Dr Dee. The show will commence next month at the Manchester International Festival and the English singer-songwriter has debuted one of the songs called “Apple Carts” on the BBC’s Andrew Marr Show.

Sources indicate this track was initially meant to be a Gorillaz song. Watch Albarn play it below.
