Orchestrally inclined indie-pop outift Ohbijou have announced the release of their third album Metal Meets; it’ll be out on September 27 via Last Gang Records.
Metal Meets follows the successful and expansive Beacons from 2009 to add another layer to the Toronto band’s catalogue. A press release issued today states that the new album will take a turn away from the homebase lyrical theme of previous works to explore new terrain. “[Metal Meets] ventures to cabins in the woods, travels across Asia, Europe and North America, and lyrical reflections on familial bloodlines that move across borders.”
A very short preview clip can be seen/heard below; a tease of a reverberated, clanging guitar part that—in all its few-second minutiae—sounds great.
