Die Antwoord collaborator and DJ Leon Botha dies at 26

Die Antwoord fans are grieving the loss of South African artist and DJ Leon Botha who died yesterday following a lifelong battle with progeria, a rare degenerative disease which accelerates the aging process.

Passing away one day after his 26th birthday, Botha was the oldest documented living person with the disorder, which usually tends to claim its victims around their early teens.

Having honed his legacy by opening for the South African group, the DJ rose to greater prominence after being featured in Die Antwoord’s video for “Enter the Ninja.” You can watch it below. [via Antiquiet]
