Roger Daltrey brings the Who's 'Tommy' to North America

It was announced last month that The Who’s famed frontman Roger Daltrey would be taking the band’s rock-opera classic Tommy on the road in the UK, and today, North American dates have been announced. There are lots of Canadian dates on the tour, including stops in Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal, Windsor, Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Saskatoon, and Winnipeg (dates below). Other Who classics will be performed on the tour as well.
Sadly, Daltrey won’t be joined by Pete Townshend, but instead by Townshend’s younger brother, Simon. The Who guitarist told the Guardian last month, “Great to see Roger performing Tommy with his band in 2011. It is wonderful to hear the way Roger and his new band re-interpret the old Who songs. I will be there in spirit, and Roger has my complete and most loving support.”
Hey, uh, Mr. Daltrey? We know this other band that’s releasing this rock opera really soon if you need an opener…just a thought. Full North American tour dates can be seen below.
