Last week, Common visited the White House for a celebration of American poetry hosted by President Barack Obama. It was a move regarded as a bad decision by some because of his support for alleged “cop killer” Assata Shakur, the step-aunt of Tupac Shakur.

The event garnered so much press attention that it was eventually picked up by The Daily Show’s Jon Stewart and Bill O’Reilly of the The O’Reilly Factor, who had conflicting opinions on the matter (naturally). O’Reilly went so far as to challenge Stewart to a debate on his show, which the actor/comedian readily accepted.

“It saddens me to see you wasting your time,” Steward tells O’Reilly. “It’s a poetry slam. Who gives a crap?”
