Maybe she wanted to seem hip or perhaps she thought it’d be funny (it is), but fact remains, current Illinois State Senator Christine Radogno quoted lyrics from Wu-Tang Clan’s “C.R.E.A.M.” during a General Assembly debate surrounding fiscal matters related to the state’s $15 billion dollar deficit.

“Some of you may know that last night Raekwon from the Wu-Tang Clan was in town and I got some financial advice from him which I would like to share with all of you, because it does seem quite relevant,” Radongo said.

“You want to send your little ones to the best school and in the end you want to know you left them with peace of mind,” she continued. “Nowadays we all know that cash rules everything around us. C.R.E.A.M. Get the money. Dollar dollar bill, y’all. Thank you.”

Luckily a spectator awoke from his daydream and managed to get this on camera. Awkward silence and all. [All Hip Hop]
