In an attempt to give his sweet-sixteen’d daughter a gift that won’t depreciate the way a new BMW will, rapper Big Boi is giving his daughter the gift that doesn’t really keep on giving these days: her own record label.

Called Purple Kidz, the label will feature a roster of primarily younger artists; the first signee is so-called singing prodigy Gabbie Rae, who has appeared on The Tyra Banks Show, aka the ultimate sign of legitimacy. Big Boi and his daughter, Jordan, are the sole partners on the new imprint.

No comment from Jordan, but there’s likely a status update of sorts somewhere wishing that she’d just gotten a car. [via Billboard]
