It’s already been almost three years since Kentucky lads My Morning Jacket released their last studio album, but on May 31 the band returns with Circuital. Today they unveiled the first single and the weird artwork.

The title-track lead single, recorded almost entirely live, hardly feels like it’s seven minutes; it starts sparse, a simple plucking guitar and singer Jim James’ familiar croon, and effortlessly slips into lush acoustics, piano, and stomping percussion. It’s big, it’s melodic, and it sounds great. You can stream the song below and you can download a copy from the band’s site.

Catch My Morning Jacket on their upcoming Canadian tour dates; June 29 in Vancouver, July 11 in Toronto, and July 12 in Montreal.
