If it was somewhere around a week ago, we’d be inclined to think this was an April Fool’s joke, but it’s not! And also who knows with Against Me! these days (sorry, still love you guys)! The band’s frontman Tom Gabel announced via his blog this morning that they have recorded a new version of the One Tree Hill theme song. It will air May 3, he said. But we want to hear it now, Tom, and besides we probably don’t get that channel. Please.

In other new Against Me! music news, the band has recorded a new two-song seven-inch, with new songs called “Russian Spies” and “Occult Enemies” making the cut. It’ll be out on Sabot Productions by summer, and on May 24, the band will release Total Clarity, a collection of demos and outtakes from 2005’s excellent Searching for a Former Clarity, via Fat Wreck Chords. No details yet on the band’s next full length, which will be their first since parting ways with major label Sire late last year.
