Watch the video for The National's "Conversation 16"

The National have released a video for “Conversation 16” from last year’s High Violet, and it’s all kinds of great. It proves, once again, that for a band that sounds so serious, they have killer, weird senses of humour.

Starring the Daily Show/Flight of the Conchords‘ always amazing Kristen Schaal as the (rather bored) President of the United States, and Mad Men‘s John Slattery as her seeming one-time love, “Conversation 16” was directed by Scott Jacobson, a writer for the Daily Show. The band is scattered around in here too; you just have to look for them.
