How does a hungry, desperate punk band break into the music biz?  Simple: hold a radio station hostage.  That’s what Chazz (Brendan Fraser), Rex (Steve Buscemi), and Pip (Adam Sandler) do in this 1994 comedy when they sneak into the radio station and things get out of hand.  Seeing the cast–rising stars in their careers–is worth checking out this film.  Director Michael Lehman had previously helmed the classic black comedy about high school, Heathers, so you get the idea that this isn’t Citizen Kane, nor does Airheads aspire to.

Imagine Buscemi saying, “”Hey pal, you wanna try gettin’ physical with me?” as Airheads takes shots at the music industry and even grunge which was peaking at the time. Look for appearances by Michael McKean (This Is Spinal Tap), Ernie Hudson, Harold Ramis, Chris Farely, Joe Mantegna, and Michael Richards. Soundtrack by Motorhead, White Zombie, Primus, Anthrax and The Ramones.
