This morning's new music news; Happy Mondays lead singer Shaun Ryder has revealed he will release a memoir in the fall, Imogen Heap is asking fans to help her write a new album and Cat Power performed some new tracks at a recent show in San Francisco.

Happy Mondays lead vocalist Shaun Ryder will release a memoir this fall. “I’ve been mithered for years to write my autobiography, but I’ve always said no because the timing never felt right,” he said. “Plenty of other people have had their say on Happy Mondays and Black Grape, and now just felt like the right time to tell it like it really happened.” [Gigwise]

Starting this month English songstress Imogen Heap will ask fans to help her write songs for her upcoming album, with its first single and music video due out March 28. Fans will be able to contribute random audio clips, words, visual art (drawings, photographs, etc.) and video clips. [Exclaim!]

And Cat Power performed three new tracks at a show in San Francisco recently that apparently will appear on her forthcoming album. Watch videos of all the live takes at TwentyFourBit.
