The Vines set release date for new album 'Future Primitive'

This June, Australian alt-rock band The Vines—who originally made it big in the early 2000’s  ‘return to rock’ scene—will release their fifth studio album entitled Future Primitive.

Earlier this year the band released Future Primitive‘s first single “Gimme Love” (below) and according to lead vocalist Craig Nicholls, “There are a few three and a half minute songs but more of them are around two minutes. I just like the early singles in the ’60s, how they seemed to be very short.”

The follow-up to 2008’s Melodia, Future Primitive will be officially released on June 6 in the UK and is expected to come out on our shores a day later. A video for the first single is finished and will be released soon. [NME]
