Despite the band’s infinite success, Pete Townshend has revealed that he wishes he’d never joined The Who, and that he should’ve pursued a solo career.
Maintaining that he’d currently be in better health had he opted out of group life, the frontman admitted to being “a good gang member” but that he was “bad at creative collaboration.” He also claimed that he “would’ve been a more effective solo performer and producer working the way Brian Eno worked,” and thanks to his collaboration with the band, his ears, wrist and shoulder have all suffered. However, he went on to assure that “in all other respects” he’s in “extremely good shape.” [via NME]
