Former Bauhaus frontman Peter Murphy will release a new solo album on June 7, his first in seven years (following Unshattered in 2004). Billboard reports the new album is called Ninth and will be Murphy’s first release under a new deal with the Nettwerk Music Group.

After completing the fifth and final Bauhaus album, Go Away White, in 2008, Murphy toured and collaborated with Trent Reznor before starting work on the new album. He also appeared briefly in last year’s Twilight: Eclipse movie (as The Cold One). He made his solo debut with Should the World Fail to Fall Apart in 1986.

Murphy is touring the U.S. all this month, including a gig at SXSW on March 17, but no Canadian dates have been announced.
