DOWNLOAD OF THE WEEK: Memphis - "I am the Photographer"

The duo that is Memphis—Torquil Campbell (of Stars, Dead Child Star) and Chris Dumont—will release their third full-length, Here Comes a City, next Tuesday. They’ve been making music together since the ’90s and have taken the last three years to write this album between New York, Montreal, Seattle, Niagara-on-the-Lake and Vancouver.

“I am the Photographer” is one of the more beautifully melodic songs on the album. It’s a heartbreaking story, detailing a photographer watching and capturing the moment of a man going over a bridge. If you’re freaked out by such a thing, you might not want to listen too closely, but even the effects on the song feel watery, like they’re eerily flowing through the tune.
