TGIF, it isn’t just for Boy Meets World reruns anymore. Now that you don’t have an excuse not to stay up late, you can take full advantage of CMW, and attack each show with the quiet determination of Mr. Feeny.

If you’re fortunate enough to have your daytime free, make sure you head to Sonic Boom from 1 p.m. onward to catch their slew of in-stores that will feature the likes of Vancouver’s Humans and J Mascis… all for free, and minus the need for wristbands.

But if not? Power up on post-work dinner and make your way to The Horseshoe for 10:20 p.m. to see Hooded Fang, then feel free to hunker down there for Winter Gloves and Cuff the Duke. OR hike down the street to catch Protest the Hero’s 12 a.m. set at the Bovine Sex Club.

11 p.m. is kind of busy with J Mascis playing The Great Hall at the same time that Dinosaur Bones take the stage at Lee’s Palace, and Pkew Pkew Pkew play the Velvet Underground.

11:30 p.m. calls for Imaginary Cities at The Garrison if you didn’t catch them last night at Lee’s. And speaking of Lee’s, Britain’s Bombay Bicycle Club will precede Parlovr at midnight.

But alas, Wrongbar is still your go-to for buzz-bands: Polaris-winning Karkwa plays at 10 p.m., and the UK’s experimental-meets-dramatic Esben and the Witch plays their only Canadian date at 11. Good luck!
