Death From Above 1979’s Coachella reunion was poised to be one hell of a show. Then, out of nowhere, the recently reunited twosome played an unannounced set on Saturday at SXSW. A literal riot ensued.

Well, the ante has been upped, since NME reports today that bassist Jesse Keeler has channeled all that rage into production on a soundtrack for the new Mortal Kombat game, due out April 19th. The ninth game in a longstanding series of blood, gore and terrible Christopher Lambert movies, Mortal Kombat is sure to inspire angry parents around the world to launch crazy, hilarious lawsuits. Maybe Keeler can convince Warner Bros. Interactive to split the legal costs if anything comes up from last Saturday’s riot?

The Jesse Keeler produced Mortal Kombat: Songs Inspired By The Warriors is out on April 4th and will feature such smash hits as “Liu Kang’s Theme” and “Deathstalker (Scorpion’s Theme).
