This morning's new music news; The Dwarves will release a new album this May, the upcoming EP from Dum Dum Girls features a cover of The Smiths and Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore will be releasing a Beck-produced solo album later this year.

Punk band The Dwarves will release their first album in seven years called The Dwarves Are Born Again on May 10 with both the CD and vinyl versions containing a bonus DVD. [Exclaim!]

Dum Dum Girls will release a new EP later this month entitled He Gets Me High, which contains a cover of The Smiths track “There Is A Light That Never Goes Out”. The EP was produced by lead vocalist Dee Dee and Raveonettes’ Sune Rose Wagner. [NME]

And Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore will release a Beck-produced solo album called Demolished Thoughts later this year. The album features collaborations with harpist Mary Lattimore and violinist Samara Lubelski. [TwentyFourBit]
