It’s a little surprising that people are still discussing Oasis two years after the band split up, but as long as journalists (mainly in the UK) keep asking former lead vocalist Liam Gallagher questions, he’ll keep giving frank answers, especially about his brother Noel.

The Guardian recently spoke with him about his new band Beady Eye (who are releasing their debut album Different Gear, Still Speeding on March 1 in Canada), and Gallagher addressed the possibility of reuniting one of the most popular Britpop bands on the planet.

“Never. This is not a stopgap until me and Noel come to our senses and start Oasis again. That is well and truly done,” he said.

After Oasis split up in the summer of 2009 (reportedly at a gig in Paris where Liam smashed Noel’s guitar), the Gallagher senior posted a statement on the band’s official website citing “verbal and violent intimidation” within the band as the reason for the breakup.

“Absolute fucking bollocks,” the younger Gallagher said concerning his brother’s statement. “That’s the thing that makes me want to throw up. I just look at him now and think, ‘You’re a fucking fake.’ It’s like, if you want to fucking leave the band, leave the band. If you want to stay at home with your kids, stay at home with your kids. If you wanna have five years off, have five years off. We’ll sit down as a band and talk about it. But don’t start going, ‘I was bullied out of the band.’ Fucking shite.”

Beady Eye will be touring Europe and Japan, but no North American tour dates have been announced. Gallagher also confirmed they will not be performing any Oasis material.
