Since the departure of former Guns ‘N Roses and Velvet Revolver bassist Duff McKagan, who left the band during recording last year, Jane’s Addiction have been on the hunt for a new member to replace McKagan as well as add another creative element to their band.

It seems the search is finally over as TV On The Radio’s Dave Sitek has now been added as bassist and songwriter for the alt-rock vets as they currently work on their forthcoming album, due out this summer.

Producer Rich Costley, who has previously worked with Franz Ferdinand and Muse, has also joined the band’s ‘creative’ team. According to lead vocalist Perry Ferrell, all the members “are fully immersed in the process of making modern music.” [Spinner]
