Last month, it was announced that Mother Mother would be releasing their third full-length album, Eureka, this upcoming spring, but because March 15 still feels like too long a wait, the Vancouver five-piece have issued a stream of the record’s first single, “The Stand”, to help tide fans over until then.

Like the album art itself, the band have stated Eureka‘s tracks are “bolder and more animated,” while the record’s title signifies “epiphany and exciting discovery.” Guitarist and vocalist Ryan Guldemond wrote “The Stand” as a “silly rap style thing to bide time in transit” with the track’s narrative revolving around “a tale of a ‘misanthrope who corrupts the minds of two young school girls.'”
