Just over thirteen years ago, Christopher Wallace, a.k.a. The Notorious B.I.G., was shot and killed while driving away from an industry party in Los Angeles. To this day his death remains unsolved, but CNN reports that a new task force team is currently pursuing new leads in the 1997 murder.

Apparently the investigation was “reinvigorated” months ago when new information regarding the case was unearthed, however sources have remained silent with regards to further details other than the fact that the Los Angeles Police Department, L.A. County District Attorney’s Office, and the FBI are all involved.

According to the police report, a lone gunman in a Chevy Impala pulled alongside the Suburban carrying Wallace and opened fire. Witnesses at the scene described the suspect as an African-American male wearing a suit and bow tie.

For years the murder was seen as a retaliation killing carried out under orders of Suge Knight and Death Row Records in response to the death of Tupac Shakur, which occurred six months prior, however the former CEO has denied any involvement.
