Julian Casablancas reveals the Strokes' new album art on Twitter, but not really

As personal fans of taking a joke too far, AUX is really happy to see that Strokes frontman Julian Casablanca’s joke tweet about the Strokes’ new album art on Sunday wasn’t, in fact, a one-off.
The original tweet, an “exclusive,” was a scenery shot of sorts, featuring a cartoon basketball player, clown, mountain goat, a rainbow, and a waterfall. Basically, all of the beautiful things in life.
The second, tweeted today with the classic comedic “but seriously” tone, featured a pixel-y, MIA-esque Photoshop job on a kid with a mullet. We’ve seen this kind of thing recently from Kanye West, who tweeted angrily about his banned album cover that we knew, deep down, wasn’t a joke, and from Weezer, who’s Hurley album cover we just assumed was a joke, though it turned out we had underestimated the levels of Rivers’ increasing strangeness.
The new Strokes album was just this week given an internet-rumoured release date of March 22. Place those album cover bets.
