Adding fuel to the upcoming record release-oriented fire, NME reports that the Arctic Monkeys are currently working on their fourth full-length album and are aiming to release it later this year.

Working alongside producer James Ford (who you may also recognize as one half of Simian Mobile Disco), the band hope to have the record out “in the late spring at the earliest,” and have already booked 2011 festival appearances throughout the UK.

Word on the street is that the four piece began recording in London at the end of last year, and have since continued their creative endeavors in the celebrity hotspot known as LA. Extra points to be awarded if they sing about surfing and/or sun.
