This morning's new music news; Bright Eyes will release a new album early next year, Belle & Sebastian frontman Stuart Murdoch has just put out a new book and Spoon have released a new compilation album featuring demos and alternative versions of tracks.
Bright Eyes are set to release a new album called The People’s Key on February 15, their first since 2007’s Cassadaga. According to the label, “Fully realized and bursting with charisma, The People’s Key is an assured and accomplished album, artfully arranged and filled with the engaging and mesmeric songwriting for which Oberst is renowned.” [Exclaim!]
Belle & Sebastian frontman Stuart Murdoch has released a new book of his online diaries from 2002-2006 entitled The Celestial Cafe. The diaries cover the recording and touring of the band’s albums Dear Catastrophe Waitress and The Life Pursuit. [NME]
And Spoon have put out a new compilation album called Bonus Songs 2008-2009. It features 10 demos and alternate versions of songs that were made available on the Spoon website during those years. The album is currently available to purchase on CD and digital download from the band’s webstore. [Consequence of Sound]
