The Clash’s third album London Calling is seen as one of the standout records from the early UK punk scene and now it’s getting its own film.

The BBC reports that the band’s 1979 album will form the basis for a new music biopic and former members Paul Simonon and Mick Jones will be its executive producers.

English playwright and director Jez Butterworth will pen the upcoming biopic, which will focus on the band’s recording of the album and working alongside producer Guy Stevens.

“Fans of The Clash all over the world have been waiting a long time to see their extraordinary story played out properly and accurately on the big screen,” said Alison Owen, one of the film’s producers. “We’re happy that Mick and Paul have given the project their blessing and are on board to help steer the ship.”

The cast has yet to be revealed, but plans have already been made to start shooting sometime next year.
