The event will mark the first gig to be streamed in its entirety via a free app on an iPad or iPhone.

“We wanted to try something unique,” the band’s lead vocalist Jonathan Higgs explains. “The concert sold out and we wanted to do something special for fans who couldn’t get tickets. We couldn’t hijack a TV channel but now we can play live to people on the bus, or wherever they want to hear it.”

LoveLive, a video production company, will film the concert using six cameras and the band has a promised a fully interactive experience. They will be answering questions sent by the app in a live interview before the gig. The show itself will be available to view for three months. [Guardian]
