Bob Dylan cleared in Amherst pizza prank

We might never know how much Bob Dylan enjoys eating pizza after a New Jersey man claimed responsibility for a massive pizza prank that occurred back in November.
On November 20, a 46-year-old man walked into Antonio’s Pizza in Amherst, MA after a nearby Dylan gig claiming to be one of his roadies. Wearing backstage concert credentials around his neck, he placed an order for 178 extra-large gourmet pizzas and promised the pizza shop workers a large tip.
Apparently employees stayed up all night making the pizzas, worth an estimated $3,900. When the man never showed up to pay, the pizza shop called the police. Dylan’s camp was temporarily blamed, but surveillance footage of the man when he ordered the pizzas revealed he was not a member of Dylan’s road crew.
A settlement has since been reached between the man and Antonio’s Pizza to pay off some of the debt. A statement from the man’s lawyer said he regrets pulling the prank. Amherst Police have said they will not file any charges. [Amherst Bulletin]
