This morning's new music news; Plants and Animals will tour Canada early next year in support of 'La La Land,' Tom Waits will release a book of his poetry next year and Noah And The Whale will release their third studio album in March.

Plants and Animals will be touring Canada early next year in support of their latest album La La Land. Starting in Vancouver on February 18, the band will play seven western shows with Yukon Blonde before making it to Ontario for a few gigs with Karkwa. They’ll finish the tour with two solo shows in Quebec. [Exclaim!]

Tom Waits will publish a book of poetry next March called Hard Ground, which will feature his own works along with photographs by Michael O’Brien. Apparently the 184-book intends to create “a portrait of homelessness that impels us to look into the eyes of people who live ‘on the hard ground’ and recognize our common humanity.” [TwentyFourBit]

Noah And The Whale will release a new album called Last Night on Earth next March. Recorded in Los Angeles and in a synagogue in Bethnal Green, London, this will be the band’s third studio album. [NME]
