The Decemberists perform "Down By The Water" on Conan

The forthcoming album by The Decemberists entitled The King Is Dead is due out January 18 and last night the band performed its first single “Down By The Water” on Conan.

The band released the track as a free download earlier this month and with Gillian Welch give a wonderful live rendition of it. Following the release of The King Is Dead, their sixth studio LP, The Decemberists will be touring North America with Canadian dates booked for Montreal on January 31 at Olympia and a day later at The Sound Academy in Toronto.
