Legendary Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards has been accused of attacking a journalist during an interview at a hotel in Paris, according to Swedish publication Aftonbladets.

Apparently Richards started threatening Swedish music reviewer Markus Larsson after he realized he was the one who gave the band a 2 out of 5 score the last time they performed in Gothenberg in 2007. Larsson had described the band as “amateurs” in his write up. Ten minutes into the scheduled 30 minute interview regarding the guitarist’s new autobiography Life, Richards demanded a public apology for Larsson’s criticism.

“The meeting ended with the rock star threatening Markus Larsson and hitting him in the head,” the publication reports. Aftonbladets quotes Richards as saying “You’re lucky to get out of here alive.”

“His eyes got black and he was absolutely furious,” Larsson said. “He stood up and asked if we would put out the lights and settle the disagreement straight away. At first I was just surprised, I thought he was pulling my leg, but then I realized he was serious and then I felt uncomfortable and I just wanted to get out of there pretty fast.”
