iTunes sells over 450,000 Beatles albums

Yesterday marked the end of the first week music by The Beatles was available to purchase through iTunes and the tally of sales from those seven days has reached expectation.

According to EMI, over 450,000 Beatles albums have been sold through Apple’s iTunes and 2 million of the band’s singles have also been downloaded. Two of the Beatles’ greatest hits compilation albums, blue and red, made it onto charts in the UK.

While “Hey Jude” has emerged as the UK’s favorite Beatles track since its inclusion on iTunes, people in North America, according to EW, rank “Here Comes The Sun” as their #1. View North American’s top 10 Beatles songs below.
