Best Coast recently revealed through their website they will be opening for Weezer in Los Angeles at the end of the month as part of the blue album/Pinkerton tour. However this will not be the first time the two bands have joined as LA Weekly just posted excerpts of their interview with lead singer/songwriter Bethany Cosentino, who let loose some details of her collaboration on a new track with Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo.

“(It’s called) “Go Away.” It’s cool. We wrote it together and he recently sent me a version he’s been working on, and I’m really happy with it and to be able to hear it,” she said. “It’s a duet, it’s him and I singing together, and to hear his voice and my voice on the same song makes my inner 13-year-old so excited.”

“Honestly, I went in, recorded a song with him in one day…for something that I got so stressed out and anxious about, it ended up being so natural, and it happened, and the song is really great.”

Weezer released their Pinkerton deluxe edition as well as Death To False Metal, a rarities compilation album, yesterday. The Memories tour, where the band will play their first two albums in each city, has dates scheduled in the US from now till early next year. No news regarding a Canadian trek yet.
