HARD Season 2 Premieres tonight at 7pm with Slayer and Megadeth

HARD Starts Off Season 2 with Thrash Legends Megadeth! It seems like thrash metal has gotten a second wind. Not only has a new generation of thrash bands emerged in the contemporary metal landscape, but also there seems to be a new found appreciation for thrash metal veterans. On the top of the list of influential thrash bands is Megadeth who recently reunited with original bassist Dave Ellefson just in time for the band’s Rust in Peace 20th anniversary tour.

Dave Ellefson’s speaks a little about his return to Megadeth and his new found friendship with Megadeth founder Dave Mustaine. “Dave Mustaine and I had talked a few times during my time away in Megadeth which helped us start to build a new friendship. My time in Megadeth before was always the band first friendship second just because those were the terms that we met on when we started the group. Now what’s different is that he and I have had a chance to really develop a friendship first; we’re a little bit older now. We both have wives and kids and families and we have other things of common interest other than playing music. It was cool that we could meet on those terms and really developed a friendship so when it came time earlier this year in 2010 to return back to Megadeth, Megadeth wasn’t the only thing we had as a common bond and common interest. It has really helped to be honest with you; it is cool that we have other things to talk about besides music and the matters of Megadeth.”
