Scottish band Mogwai have left Matador Records and will release their forthcoming album, due out early next year, on Sub Pop. A post on the band’s official website read, “We would like to take this opportunity to thank and pay tribute to our previous American home Matador Records. They remain great friends of the band and we want to thank them for everything they have done for us over the last 11 years and wish them all the best for the future.” [Exclaim!]

The Dismemberment Plan have announced plans to reunite this January for a tour in support of the vinyl reissue of their 1999 album Emergency & I. The band split up in 2003, but reunited for some benefit shows later in the decade. The reissue will be released on January 11 and the five-date tour of the eastern states will start 10 days later in Washington, D.C. [The Washington Post]
