Land of Talk's second full length Cloak and Cipher was released only a few weeks ago, and featuring contributions from members of local favourites like Stars, Arcade Fire, Wintersleep, and Besnard Lakes it's hard not to get caught up in their music. Front woman Elizabeth Powell is a Guelph native herself, but formed the band with university friends in Montreal and the influences of both areas are evident. Check out our photos from the night after the jump.

Land of Talk’s second full length Cloak and Cipher was released only a few weeks ago, and the band visited Toronto to play their new music to a capacity crowd at Lee’s Palace. Joining the sometimes trio on stage was opener and fellow Montrealers, Suuns who are joining the band throughout their North American tour. A few songs in Suuns left the stage with Liz Powell explaining, “This is the way we used to play, as a trio.” A striped down LOT then launched into a crowd pleasing Magnetic Hill and was eventually joined by Suuns again to play a collection of tracks from Cloak and Cipher, the first time playing them to a live audience, according to Powell.
