Jamie Lidell brings soul to Osheaga

Throughout the day, the Green Stage, which is located a short walk from the main area, was plagued by technical difficulties. Owen Pallett stormed off stage after his set and could be seen backstage later looking visibly upset. It’s understandable – the Polaris shortlister is widely known to be a perfectionist, as much in the studio as on stage.
When it was time for Jamie Lidell to play, delays were already in full swing. Lidell’s stage set up is complex – the band uses a variety of synths, samplers, and even two drum kits. The always charming Lidell, however, did not let the problems phaze him and went on to perform a crowd pleasing set, the highlite being an extended version of telephone which Lidell jokingly introduced as a criticism of the telecommunications industry (unless I heard that wrong due to tech difficulties).
