This morning's new music news; The second free Drake concert in New York City has been cancelled, Iggy Pop and James Williamson will reissue their 1977 collaborative album 'Kill City' in October and Linkin Park will release their new album entitled 'A Thousand Suns" this September.

Another free Drake show in New York City has been cancelled before the rapper could even take the stage. There was word that Drake was going to play on July 16 for ABC’s Good Morning America concert series until concert organizers changed their minds and hired the cast of the Green Day musical American Idiot instead. However someone representing the rapper told the New York Daily News that the gig might have been cancelled by police because of safety issues. [MTV]

Kill City, a collaborative album by Iggy Pop and James Williamson released in 1977 will be reissued and is due out October 19. Earlier this year the guitarist Williamson spoke about the reissue in an interview with Blurt. “I finished mixing Kill City and we’re going to release that this year,” he said. “A friend of mine is a really, really good engineer, Ed Cherney. He went in and mixed the album, with my help. This guy has done records for everybody and he just made this record sound, well, like it should have sounded all along. It has finally reached its full potential and that’s exciting.” [Exclaim!]

And Linkin Park will release a new album called A Thousand Suns on September 14 following it’s first single “The Catalyst,” which comes out August 2. This upcoming release is the first since 2007’s Minutes to Midnight. A contest will be set up on their MySpace page allowing fans to record songs using Linkin Park audio stems. [Billboard]
