This morning's new music news; Beck has named the album and collaborators for the next installment of Beck's Record Club, The Darkness have reformed and are planning to tour sometime next year and according to Julian Casablancas the next Strokes record is only half finished.

For the next installment of Beck’s Record Club, the singer has recruited Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore and Tortoise to cover Greek composure Yanni’s album Live at the Acropolis, released in 1994. The latest album to be covered was INXS’ sixth album released in 1987, Kick. [NME]

The Darkness have reformed after frontman Justin Hawkins patched things up with his brother and bandmate Dan Hawkins. A reunion tour is planned for sometime in 2011. The band split up after their 2005 album One Way Ticket to Hell…And Back. [Prefix]

And according to Julian Casablancas the next Strokes album is only half finished. Before his solo set at Glastonbury he spoke with BBC 6 Music, who are not shutting down, about what stage the band is at with regards to the new album. Their last album, First Impression of Earth was released in 2006. [6Music]
